VILLARAIGOSA’S $6.1 MILLION RAISED LEADS FUNDRAISING IN CA GOVERNOR’S RACE

No Transfers, No Self-Funding, No Gimmicks:  Villaraigosa Continues to Lead All Candidates in Direct Donor Support

LOS ANGELES, CA — Antonio Villaraigosa’s campaign for Governor announces that Villaraigosa has raised $6.1 million in the California Governor’s race. He is the only candidate to achieve that milestone with 100% of contributions made as direct donations supporting Villaraigosa’s candidacy for Governor. This includes $1.8 million since July from over 2,000 donors.

“I am deeply grateful to everyone who has donated, volunteered, and helped us achieve our fundraising goals,” said Villaraigosa. “Thanks to this diverse coalition of support from across the state, we are leading all other campaigns in fundraising and ensuring that our campaign has the needed resources to start communicating our message to voters. As I campaign across the state, it is clear that voters are looking for a proven problem solver to keep neighborhoods safe, improve schools, tackle affordability, and stop Donald Trump from harming our communities.”

The $6.1 million reflects contributions from over 2,000 supporters throughout California. Supporters include the labor groups, such as the building and construction trades and public safety groups, as well as small businesses and individual grassroots supporters.

“Antonio Villaraigosa is the hardest-working candidate in this race. With an unmatched record as a proven problem solver, he's best prepared and ready on Day One to tackle California’s biggest problems as Governor. Antonio continues to top all other candidates in fundraising with over $6.1 million in direct donations – no transfers, no self-funding, and no gimmicks – from supporters united behind our campaign,” said Villaraigosa’s chief strategist Josh Pulliam.
