LA Latino Chamber of Commerce Endorses Antonio Villaraigosa for Governor

LOS ANGELES, CA —  Today, the Los Angeles Latino Chamber of Commerce announced their endorsement of Antonio Villaraigosa for Governor of California.

"Antonio Villaraigosa built one of the strongest economies in the country as mayor of LA, and he did it by putting working families and small businesses first," said Darrel Sauceda, Chairman of the LA Latino Chamber of Commerce. "California's Latino business community needs a governor who will cut costs, create jobs, and actually deliver results. Antonio has done it before, and he'll do it again. We’re proud to stand with him."

"The LA Latino Chamber knows what it takes to build a business in this state, and they know what's standing in the way," said Antonio Villaraigosa. "As governor, I will be a partner to all entrepreneurs and small business owners, not another layer of bureaucracy. We're going to cut the red tape, open doors to capital, and make sure the communities that are driving California's growth have a seat at the table."

Today’s endorsement adds to a rapidly growing coalition that now includes Mayor Karen Bass, the California Federation of Labor, the Building and Construction Trades Council of California, the Peace Officers Research Association of California (PORAC), and dozens of organizations across the state covering business, labor, and editorial boards.

Latino-owned businesses are the fastest-growing segment of California's economy, yet they continue to face disproportionate barriers to capital, permitting, and contracting opportunities. Villaraigosa has called for streamlining regulations, expanding small business lending programs, and again allowing small businesses to thrive.
