NEW AD IN CA GOVERNOR’S RACE

“I KNOW” HIGHLIGHTS VILLARAIGOSA’S LIVED EXPERIENCE AND PLAN TO MAKE CALIFORNIA MORE AFFORDABLE

LOS ANGELES, CA — Today, Antonio Villaraigosa releases a new campaign ad titled, I Know. The ad highlights Antonio’s lived experience and why he is the best candidate to tackle the challenge of California’s affordability crisis.

“I know what it means for families to worry about bills,” said Antonio. “I know what it means to struggle to pay rent and put food on the table. I’m running for governor because we need a proven problem solver. And I’m the only candidate with the record and experience to take on this affordability crisis.”

This is in contrast to some of the other candidates in the race for governor who are out of touch with the struggles of everyday Californians and lack the experience to bring multiple interests–from consumer groups and labor unions to businesses–together to find common ground and work together to make our state affordable for all Californians.

Antonio’s Affordability Plan, which is also being released today, outlines his plan to address the high cost of housing, which is the leading driver of the affordability crisis in California. Additionally, the Plan provides proposals to bring down the high cost of health care. Antonio previously released his plan to bring down the cost of gas prices. The Affordability Plan also proposes protecting consumers and cracking down on price gougers.

VILLARAIGOSA:

I grew up in a tough neighborhood

I know what it’s like to struggle

I’m Antonio Villaraigosa

Today too many families

can’t afford to live in California

I’m gonna change that

I’ll crack down on price gouging

to lower groceries and gas

I’ll build housing that's affordable

And I’ll fight Trump’s violent ICE

raids and expensive tariffs

As Governor I’ll do everything

I can to bring costs down
