VILLARAIGOSA BRINGS AFFORDABILITY TOUR TO SALINAS
LOS ANGELES, CA — Today, former Antonio Villaraigosa will continue his statewide Affordability Tour with a stop in Salinas, where he will meet with local farmers and agricultural leaders at Reservoir Farms to discuss the challenges and opportunities facing California agriculture.
As part of the tour, Antonio will participate in a Grower Roundtable, bringing together farmers and local stakeholders to talk about the rising costs affecting food production, supply chains, and ultimately the prices California families pay at the grocery store.
The Affordability Tour has taken Antonio across the state to hear directly from Californians about the cost pressures they face every day – from groceries and gas to food and utilities. These conversations are central to shaping solutions that reflect the realities families and workers are experiencing.
“Leadership isn’t just about talking – it’s about listening and showing up,” said Antonio. “That’s why I’m traveling across California to hear directly from the people who grow our food, run our small businesses, and are working hard to make ends meet. Listening to Californians is how we build real solutions to the affordability crisis impacting families across our state.”
During the stop at Reservoir Farms, Antonio will tour the farm and engage in a discussion with growers about labor challenges, water access, regulatory pressures, and the broader economic forces impacting agriculture across California.
Antonio’s visit aims to spotlight concerns of rising costs for our farmers while continuing his broader conversation with Californians about how the state can address affordability and strengthen economic opportunity.
