VILLARAIGOSA ENDORSED BY THE CALIFORNIA STATE ASSOCIATION OF ELECTRICAL WORKERS
Latest major statewide trades union endorsement for Villaraigosa in his race for governor
LOS ANGELES – Antonio Villaraigosa, former Speaker of the California Assembly and 41st Mayor of Los Angeles, announced that he has received another major statewide union endorsement from the California State Association of Electrical Workers (CSAEW), representing over 83,000 union electrical workers from across the state.
John Doherty, Financial Secretary Treasurer of CSAEW, stated, “Antonio Villaraigosa has consistently demonstrated his support for our union and the vital role we play in California's economy. His proven track record of advocating for safe working conditions and fair wages, combined with his vision for strengthening our energy infrastructure, aligns well with our mission to empower our members and build stronger communities. We believe he is the right leader to guide California in addressing its pressing infrastructure needs.”
"I am honored and humbled to have earned the endorsement of the California State Association of Electrical Workers," said Antonio Villaraigosa. "Electrical workers are hard-working men and women who deserve an economy that works for all families. As governor, I will focus on creating better working conditions, jobs with livable wages, more affordable housing and increased vocational education and apprenticeship programs."
This endorsement is Villaraigosa's latest major statewide union endorsement, including the Peace Officers Research Association of California (PORAC), the largest public safety endorsement in the governor's race, the California State Pipe Trades Council, the California-Nevada Conference of Operating Engineers, and the District Council of Iron Workers (DCIW) of California and the Vicinity.
