VILLARAIGOSA ON DONALD TRUMP’S PLANS TO ALLOW OIL DRILLING OFF THE CALIFORNIA COAST

As Governor, I’ll oppose any new offshore drilling and protect our coast 

LOS ANGELES – Antonio Villaraigosa on Donald Trump’s plans to allow oil drilling off the California coast:

“I have two words for President Trump’s proposal to open up offshore oil drilling in my state: no way.

We’ve lived through recent oil spills in Santa Barbara and Orange County, and we know the cost. We cannot afford the risk to our coastline economies and ecosystems.

I believe in an all-of-the-above energy strategy. That’s why I supported our legislature’s move to open up more production in the Central Valley - but as Governor, I’ll oppose any new offshore drilling and protect our coast.”
