Senate Democrats caved with no deal to keep healthcare affordable 

LOS ANGELES – Yesterday, the U.S. Senate passed a sham deal to end the government shutdown without a deal to protect health care subsidies because six U.S. Senators caved and voted to reopen the government without those protections.

”This is shameful. Millions of Americans will face skyrocketing health care premiums because of this deal. I’m disappointed in the Democrats who were unable to hold the line and fight for health care access and affordability,” said Antonio Villaraigosa.

“As Governor, I'll fight for  middle-class families and defend the progress we have made on health care. We must stand up against Donald Trump and Republican policies that are hurting Californians.”
