LOS ANGELES — With Lt. Governor Kounalakis out of the race, Antonio Villaraigosa has emerged as the clear fundraising leader raising over $4.2 million from individual donors, far surpassing his rivals who had to transfer funds in a lump sum from a committee for another political office.  

“The latest reports show that Villaraigosa far surpassed all other candidates in direct donations in the governor’s race, doubling Katie Porter’s donations for governor and tripling Becerra, who finished dead last among Democrats,” declared Villaraigosa’s chief strategist Josh Pulliam.
